PROJECT SUMMARY
The Windsor State School project involves the development of a three-storey junior learning facility designed in accordance with the Space Allocation table and Block G on the Master Plan. The new building will feature eight General Learning Areas (GLAs), a dedicated Music Room, a Flexible Learning Area (FLA), and essential canteen facilities. It will also include student amenities, a staff work room, and staff amenities. Additionally, the design includes provisions for future expansion, allowing for the addition of three more GLAs on the first level. This project aims to enhance the school's infrastructure, providing a modern and flexible educational environment to meet the evolving needs of students and staff.
Key Engineering Details
As the building is located on the site of a former WW2 navy store building, considerable ground investigation was completed to eliminate the risk of encountering existing sub-structures, trenches or tunnels under the site. The design of the civil and structural works was mindful of the heritage listing of existing buildings and structures, with slope assessment completed to ensure these were not potentially undermined by the new works.
